Amy Prechter has had a lifetime involvement with horses. In her youth, Amy’s family raised Morgan horses that she had the privilege of working with on a daily basis. She also had the opportunity to train and compete with several world renown trainers with many of these horses.  At a young age she knew she wanted to work with people and horses, and that she wanted to tie that into her college career. She obtained a bachelor’s in psychology and Agricultural Education, which has helped her in establishing her dream of owning and operating an equestrian operation known as Cedar Ridge Equine located in Bozeman where she has focused primarily on providing horsemanship lessons, life skill development workshops summer horsemanship camps and clinics for all ages. Her eagerness to teach others about horses led her to pursue a Master’s in Agriculture Education as well as a college teaching certificate and she is now interested in pursuing an Interdisciplinary PhD in Agriculture Education and technology, Psychology, Education, Health and Human Development and Animal Science. She is currently certified in the Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association as an Equine Specialist and also obtained her Cowboy Dressage Level 1 clinician status last year. When Amy is not teaching her riding students, she can be found at Montana State University where she instructs the colt starting and developing young horse courses. Amy is an ambassador of Cowboy Dressage in Montana and is in process of establishing a Cowboy Dressage Collegiate Certification at Montana State University. With her own personal horses she enjoys competing in barrel racing and Cowboy Dressage competitions on horses that she has bred, raised and trained.
