CDW Spring Gathering and Show is One for the Books.

After a long wet and cold winter, spring has finally arrived. The horses are shedding their shaggy coats in celebration. It is time to get back in the saddle and enjoy our blessings.

CDW had their first show of the year this April. We couldn’t have asked for better weather or turn out, with many new people to share our sport with. I think just about everyone came away a winner one way or the other.

Julia Wertz of PA and Kaylee Elmore of CA both had qualifying rides for their CDW Clinician Level 1. Watch for their official status announcement on the CDW Facebook page.

Reminders – New for 2023

Remember that the CDW Gaited tests have been greatly expanded and that the new for 2023 Horsemanship Tests are ready to challenge horse and rider skills. There will be a couple of minor adjustments to the Horsemanship tests so be sure to check them out again.

Below are the changes.
Walk/Jog test 1.
Enter Working Walk at A. Stop salute. Turn right proceed working walk
N Working Jog
F Free jog to M…….

All three of the test to read: 
At A Turn down center line “past” D
Stop, back 4-6 steps and salute.
