Nonny Largent

Equine professional since 1987

Nonny Largent began her professional career training and showing Quarter Horses in Northern
California and continues to do so to this day.

During her career, she has had the opportunity to work with many different breeds of horses. As a
youth and amateur, she showed Arabians, Half Arabians, and Quarter Horses. That was where her
appreciation for the equine species and all of its mysteries began.

Nonny was the coach at the University of California, Chico from 1990-1992. During her tenure there,
she coached the team and individuals to High Point Western Team and High Point Western Rider for
consecutive years. She has gone on to produce many Circuit Champions in Showmanship,
Horsemanship, Hunt Seat Equitation, Hunter Under Saddle and Western Pleasure.

Nonny has also been a judge for many different organizations, including a recommended Cowboy
Dressage judge. She is fair and knowledgeable and is always willing to help the exhibitors. She continues
her education as an official, and, as a professional frequently attending judging seminars and clinics. She
is also a Level 3 Cowboy Dressage clinician.

Nonny believes in “open lines of communication” between the horse and rider and strives to help her
students be successful so they can truly enjoy their equine friends. Her emphasis is on a proper seat and
using the legs and hands together to obtain a willing and trusting partnership. If you have all of this, you
and your horse can do anything!
